The start of "Route 66"

 Why put a picture of streets signs on the blog? I hear you ask.  Well apparently the true end (start in our case) of Route 66 is at the corner of Olympic and Lincoln in Santa Monica, so that is where we started. 

 

A very happy camper, at least until it started to get hot driving through to stop/start traffic of Hollywood and LA.

The first coffee stop of the first day on "Route 66"

It's getting a bit warmer but we are still smiling.

Okay so it is about lunch time and it is getting warmer by the minute.  I can't remember exactly but it was about 37 Celsius by now.

  So what better place to stop and use the free Wifi than a San Bernardino Macca's.

Why?

Because the first Mac Donalds was built by the Mac Donalds brothers in San Bernardino.
