A nice days drive through the mountains.
Everybody in Trinidad told us about highway 12 which is called the highway of legends so we thought we would take their advice and take the loop road. Through Cokedale, Stonewall, Cuchara and past the Devils Stairsteps. It was a lovely ride and everyone we met was super friendly.
These look like aqueducts but they are what is left of coal ovens used to make coke. Just near Cokedale.
These beautiful little Humming birds were feeding just by the window at the cafe in Stonewall. Unfortunately they were just to hard to get a good photo.

We were told about this place in Cuchara by a couple we met in Trinidad who had a Blue Heeler.
Unfortunately I misplaced their contact details so we weren't able to contact them, Sorry.
