Sawtooth Range

A great ride through the range and most of the other traffic on the road was beautiful old classics.

Turns out they were headed for the same town as us so we got to have a close look.

Twin Falls to Stanley 9th September 2013

 Another day, another lot of great scenery.

It wasn't until we left the township of  Twin Falls that we found the beautiful surrounding scenery.

No wonder people play golf. With views like this who wouldn't.

We stopped at these ice caves on the way.  The only other people who showed up while we were waiting for our tour were another couple of Aussies.

 A quiet day in the Utah Desert.

We didn't expect to see a 40's Ford cruising in the desert.

Bonneville Salt Flats 7th September 2013

Bonneville Salt Flats

Even though there was no Speed Trials we still went out to the Salt Flats.

There were quite a few people out there.  We talked to quite a few of them who had travelled from all over the States to be there for the weekend.  Two guys had hired an RV and had planned to just sit out there looking at the view, which wasn't to bad actually.

It is just about impossible to see with the naked eye in the above picture but way out in the distance is the start marker on the right. 

Oh well maybe some other time!

Liberty Lake to Sandy (Salt Lake City) 2nd - 6th September 2013

Ups and Downs

We left Liberty Lake to head South towards Salt Lake City and ultimately Bonneville Salt Flats for the "World of Speed" week.

We stopped at Missoula, Salmon and Idaho Falls a long the way. 

The scenery was nice but nothing stunning compared to what we had been experiencing.

Maurice was getting so excited that Bonneville was getting really close and had commented that he hoped the rain held off.

Well today while looking for transport out to the Salt Flats there was a large announcement on the official website to say that because of heavy rain fall (thunderstorms) they had to CANCEL the event.

Needless to say Maurice is devastated!

West Glacier to Liberty Lake 31st August - 1 September 2013

Hydroplane Racing at Coeur d' Alene Lake, Idaho

For those of you who don't know Maurice use to race Hydroplanes in the 80's.  So when he found out about the race's that were happening this weekend he was pretty keen to go.

We both went yesterday but I opted out today and spent the day relaxing.
